Each year we select different activities, though some are carried over from year to year, such as Field Day, and the annual Christmas party.

Build day is an event to bring equipment to in order to make something that could be useful, such as a direction finder!  It can then be used to find another HAM hiding somewhere acting as the FOX!

February is a cold month and ideal for operating radios, antennas and other weather outside to ensure they will work.

Providing security and communications to community activities keeps our skills sharp.  These are events such as Lansing DAZE and the Historical Society run/walk, as well as support to bicycle and motorcycle races in the Leavenworth and Kansas City area.

Weather spotting support is part of emergency communications in support of emergency management.  Also support to hospitals during disasters is critical.

FIELD DAY

A special event     each spring. We set up in

a park and see how many contacts    can be made!

PARTIES

We often include the    family in our events.

Christmas, and occasionally at restaurants.

MONTHLY MEETINGS

We get to meet many of whom we talk to during weekly radio nets at our monthly meetings.  Training and upcoming activities are discussed.

AMATEUR RADIO EMERGENCY SERVICE (ARES)

From the ARRL and Emergency Management comes service to weather spotting, hospital communication support, and support to Red Cross, and Salvation Army. MARS (Military Affiliated Radio Support) is another service for participation through military/civilian channels.
